Ivana de Vivanco: Pink Maneuver
February 2021—27 March 2021

The exhibition »Pink Maneuver« by Ivana de Vivanco brings together a group of colour-intensive allegories in whose compositions, on closer inspection, irritations open the view to complex to confrontational statements.

We encounter the works of artist Ivana de Vivanco in a playful realism, in joyful and intense colours and pictorial protagonists that are designed between lifelike and caricature-like. The fact that her pictures are critical reflections of our contemporary historical present is shown by a pictorial scene that is sometimes marked by conflict and violent symbolism. Further pictorial irritations reinforce this expression of absurdity and conflict. In the spirit of Giorgio Agamben, Ivana de Vivanco presents works of art that skilfully give rise to a questioning of social conditions experienced as natural, bring the historicity of our reality to mind and thus challenge our own thinking.
