Klara Meinhardt: Egosun

We are pleased to draw your attention to the work of the young artist Klara Meinhardt. For her project »Molosser – a plastic analysis« she received a project grant from the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony in 2015. In »Egosun« with Josef Filipp, she shows her cyanotypes, which she realized this year in Paris, and complements them with works from the »Best of Breed« series and the large-format wall object »Transport«.

Klara Meinhardt's most recent exhibitions were »Hauptsache Skupltur – Darmstädter Sezession« [2016], »Une autre conspiration«, ENSBA and BF15, Lyon [2015], »Innenstabil", Galerie 3 Ringe, Leipzig [2015], »2.5.0 - Object is meditation and poetry«, Grassimuseum, Leipzig [2015]. She is currently on the curatorial team for the exhibition »Potnia Theron – the Animal in Science and Art« at the Altana Gallery of the Art Collection of the Technical University of Dresden.

Klara Meinhardt, born 1987 in Dresden, lives and works in Leipzig and Paris. From 2006 to 2011 she studied at the Dresden University of Fine Arts. At the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna she studied with Monica Bonvicini from 2013 to 2014. She completed her master's degree in 2015 with Joachim Blank at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig. Her works are represented in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts Leipzig and in various private collections.
