Valentina Seidel »Exchange: Bauhaus People Today«
September 12—October 13, 2009

Spinnerei Gallery Tour:
Saturday, September 12, 11 am—9 pm
Sunday, September 13, 11 am—6 pm

This project started in 2006: I am interested in the myth of the Bauhaus Dessau and how the people, who work there today, think about and react to it. I would like to explore this attitude by showing it through the making of photographs in collaboration with the international partcipants of the kolleg, teachers and staff. Here, the iconic photographs of the 1920s Bauhaus could be a starting point and inspiration to look at. Possible locations for the photographs are the Bauhaus Building itself, the Masters-Houses, the Kornhouse, the Steelhouse etc. I am interested in the personal and contemporary poses infront of the background of the [fetishized and now renovated] Worldheritage Bauhaus Dessau.
